IRNA - A top VfL Bochum official voiced
deep skepticism on being able to sign up Bayern striker Vahid Hashemian
again, saying the west German club cannot afford to pay the high
transfer sum.
Speaking with the sports weekly Sport Bild on Wednesday, Bochum board
member Dieter Meinhold admitted it would be `very difficult` to get the
Iranian player back again.
"By no means can we buy Vahid," said Meinhold who held talks with Bayern
Munich manager Uli Hoeness on a potential Hashemian transfer three weeks
ago.
Hashemian was a fan favorite in Bochum during the 2003/4 season, scoring
16 goals in 32 matches.
The former Pas forward who has also been linked to fellow Bundesliga
club Hertha Berlin, has failed to make an impact at Bayern Munich after
his 2 million euro transfer from Bochum last summer.
Hashemian has yet to score a goal for Bayern and has only played in
three of Bayern`s 13 Bundesliga games so far this season.
